New Caledonia

New Caledonia has everything to offer that comes with a tropical destination. The coastline consists of wide white sandy beaches and clear blue water (ideal for water sports such as diving and sailing). Diving and snorkeling is especially popular because of the largest coral reef in the world. Inland there are many unspoilt areas of nature, many of which are housed in nature reserves. In addition, there are primeval forests, waterfalls and the largest lagoon in the world. Many French influences can be found on the islands. New Caledonia used to be a penal colony of France where criminals from France were executed.
