Laos-
Laos is known for its beautiful unspoilt nature. Throughout the country you will find mountains, waterfalls, rainforests, rivers and a range of wild animal species, such as elephant, tiger, leopard, bear and various snake species. You will also find large-scale poppy fields for the extraction of opium. In Laos the Buddha is central. You see this in the many temples and statues in the country. You also see Buddhism in the monks who are dressed in orange robes. In the south of the country you will also find a real Buddha Park (Xieng Khuan) where there are dozens of Buddha statues. Laos is also known for the Mekong River that crosses the country. In the south of the country, the river is known for its 4,000 islands and rapids. Traces of the Vietnam War can also still be found in Laos.
