Malawi

Malawi is known as one of the poorest countries in the world, but the people are very hospitable and friendly. The population mainly lives from fishing and livestock farming. In contrast to the surrounding countries, there are few wild animal species. The country still has several National Parks, including the Liwonde National Park, which is home to elephants, hippos, leopards and zebras. Lake Malawi is located in the east of the country and is approximately 560 by 75 kilometers in size and is characterized by its beautiful beaches and rich underwater world. The lake is home to approximately 1,000 different species of fish, making it an ideal destination for diving and snorkeling. The country is also known for its ancient rock carvings and beautiful sunsets.
