Sudan has a long history of (civil) wars. The Darfur region and the border region with South Sudan in particular are regularly the scene of unrest. Sudan is often known among tourists as a diving destination. In the Red Sea you can dive to shipwrecks, colorful coral reefs and many shark species. The landscape of Sudan mostly consists of desert plains. There you can visit pyramids, temples and ruins. There are also two major rivers that converge in the capital Khartoum. These are the White Nile and the Blue Nile. These together flow into the Nile.
